Welcome to your January News
Chairman's Note
Happy New Year and welcome to 2022! Although the pandemic continues, in varying different forms, it is fantastic to see the enthusiasm around returning to face-to-face events, not only in 2021 but going further into 2022.
Last year we saw success for our many online events; from SIGs to Symposiums, it was great to see that as a community we stayed connected and inspired to learn. Of course, it would be impossible to not mention Connect 2021 and the fantastic achievement it was. Whilst we always appreciate the commitment to this community, to see so many faces networking, influencing and being back together was a true pleasure. It was also brilliant to see so many people let their hair down at SUGFest and celebrate our community together again. We look forward to seeing you all at Connect 2022 and if you’re as eager as we are to secure your place we have early-bird rates running till the end of January. As always, we have plenty of other events throughout the year for you to take part in, take a look at our events page and find something that piques your interest.
‘SUGTalks’ was one of the great successes of last year and December saw the end of Series 5. Having launched a year ago, the podcast has grown from strength to strength and we want it to just keep getting better. If you haven’t had chance to give it a listen, find all the episodes here, choose your favourite platform and leave us a review. As always, we love to hear from you, if you have an idea or a suggestion of a topic you'd like us to cover, send your feedback to the User Group and we’ll see what we can do!
We’re looking to grow our Board of Directors and we need your help! As we value every member of the User Group we want you to be involved, whether you nominate a colleague, a friend from the community or yourself, this in an opportunity for you to have your say, help us run and manage our organisation. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, keep your eyes on your email inbox for more information!
With the maintenance deadline for ECC 6.0 coming in 2027, it isn’t surprising that there has been a push towards RISE with SAP or beginning the migration towards S/4HANA amongst our members. To help you along and to understand the cost involved, last week we released our Cost of Change Whitepaper to help you and your organisation make the move.
Once again, thank you for another terrific year and here’s to an even better 2022!
Stay safe and see you next month!
Paul Cooper Chairman

Cost of Change Whitepaper Are you looking at a cost of change within your organisation?
We all know that the maintenance deadline for SAP ECC 6.0 is fast approaching, and many SAP customers are facing important decisions regarding their future use of SAP.
We've put together a Cost of Change Whitepaper to help you, our members, decide which is the best course of action for you. The aim of this whitepaper is to clear up any confusion or questions you may have with regards to implementation, upgrading or moving on from SAP. We interviewed customers, partners and SAP themselves to provide information from all the angles of SAP.
If you and your organisation are on the cusp of change and want to understand the costs before taking the leap, take a look below.

SAP's Digital Access Adoption Program SAP Digital Access Adoption Programme due to end December 31st 2021?
Not the case! We are pleased to let you know what the DAAP has been extended until December 31st 2022.
UKISUG welcomes this extension as we always maintained that the original deadline didn't give customers a practical timescale to properly go through the process, a process further exacerbated by the pandemic. We can only commend SAP for listening to its SAP community and extending the DAAP for another 12 months.
For more information on the DAAP, see here.
