Chairman's Note
Well summer is over, back to school has disappeared from the supermarkets to be replaced by Halloween & Christmas! I hope you all managed to get some respite from work and enjoy the unusually good weather of the last few months and are ready for the Autumn term?
Here at the User Group, we are already at full speed with our Autumn programme. Earlier this week we held our final Symposium of the year covering the SAP S/4HANA Journey, and from the early feedback I have heard it seems to have been a successful and well received event. Fear not we still have plenty of face-to-face and virtual events over the coming months. Check out our full calendar here.

There are only ten weeks left until we host our biggest annual event UKISUG Connect – the largest annual gathering of SAP professionals across the UK and Ireland. We are only weeks away from launching our full conference programme so keep your eyes peeled for more information coming your way. The year sees the return of many of your favourite streams, plus new ones including a SAP S/4HANA stream exclusively presented by members discussing and sharing their journeys. This year will also see our ICE initiatives have their own Community Stream, focusing on Women in SAP, Wellness & Sustainability.
As a member of UKISUG it’s really important to us and the wider SAP community that we hear your stories and experiences. There are still a few slots available at the conference and over the coming months our SIG Chairs will be starting to think about their 2023 programme. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have a story to tell. At our SIGs it doesn’t need to be an hour-long PowerPoint extravaganza, just a 10-minute chat and taking a few questions can be invaluable to members of our community.
Thank you for continuously supporting your UKISUG community!

The Future of Analytics on SAP
A Guide to Decision Intelligence for SAP Data
Running comprehensive analytics on SAP BW and SAP HANA—across all your SAP investments—is challenging.
Many BI and analytics tools simply can't handle the volumes and complexities inherent in today's data-rich and diverse business landscape. In fact, most force you to move data out of SAP—delaying insights and sacrificing the business logic, governance, and security. Plus, it's extremely difficult to blend your SAP data with other sources.
To take full advantage of the investments in SAP—as well as the growing volume of new sources—organisations should be able to access the data directly and deliver insights for everyone. This is where decision intelligence comes in.
In this guide, Pyramid provide a glimpse into the future of analytics on SAP. A future that is available today, with the right decision intelligence platform.
Here are a few key findings:
- What your peers say about the inherent challenges of common analytics tools for SAP
- Why the future of analytics points to decision intelligence
- 12 surprising truths about business intelligence and analytics, made possible by decision intelligence
- How decision intelligence can help you deliver insights for everyone

Explore how leading organisations, with the help of SAP, are building robust security measures to identify, analyse, and neutralise cyberattacks in your applications as they happen and before serious damage occurs. Implementing a zero trust model is essential – but do you know how to best apply these principles to your SAP environment, or how to extend zero trust to the cloud?
