SUGTalks – Learning more about the World of SAP through the Official UKISUG podcast

Published on

Having launched Series 8 of our SUGTalks podcast a few weeks ago, we thought this would be a great time to highlight some of our most recent episodes in case you haven’t subscribed yet.

As with everything we do at the UK & Ireland SAP User Group, SUGTalks is primarily designed to give you the inside track on the world of SAP, with everything from discussions about SAP products to interviews with senior IT leaders so you can learn from their experiences.

Over the last 12 months we have interviewed Nicola Davidson from KCA Deutag, who shared the nuances of working within the oil and gas industry, Dawn Ingle from Shoosmiths, who had planned a career in in the police before moving into IT, and Vincent Petit from Inchcape, where the discussion was centred on automation. Most recently we spoke with Stephen Clark from Walgreens Boots Alliance, who gave insights into what it takes to manage SAP implementations across thousands of retail locations. We also have an episode coming up with Ian Mallinson from Warburtons in the near future too – so watch this space!

More widely, other recent episodes have looked at how to protect your SAP IT estate from cyberattacks and the latest HR and Payroll trends around SuccessFactors. If big data is your thing, we’ve also talked about how get the most out of your data with SAP analytics.

Of course there are some major recurring themes that we look to cover on the podcast, whether that’s moving to S/4HANA, or the challenges around recruitment and professional development. These episodes share top tips and actionable ideas to help you get more from your SAP implementations and wider career.

As part of our ongoing mental health initiative, we also cover key issues on the podcast with our mental health partner Thrive. In recent episodes we have talked about dealing with sensory overload, how to step outside of your comfort zone, the importance of positivity and how we can use mindfulness to improve our mental wellbeing.

Hopefully you’ll agree that there’s something for everyone. You can access the podcast on the app of your choice, just don’t forget to subscribe, so you don’t miss out on future episodes!
