SUGTalks podcast highlights from 2022

Published on

As we start a new year, we wanted to share some highlights from 2022 that you might want to listen back to.

S/4HANA is a focus for many of you. Earlier last year, James Davies, and Claire Delisle from Evergreen Garden Care and Graeme Hughes from NTT Data Business Solutions, joined us to share their top tips for moving to S/4HANA and Evergreen Garden Care’s own experiences of doing so.

Other key technology episodes have included a deep dive into SAP Signavio, where Wassilios Lolas from SAP shared use cases and advice on getting the most from SAP Signavio as part of wider digital transformation efforts. Separately, you might be interested in our podcasts on getting the most from SAP’s Business Technology Platform and how organisations can make the most of data and analytics within SAP too.

It’s no secret that there’s a real need for more people to join the SAP industry. Our episode on Developing the next generation of SAP talent, with Kate James from the University of Portsmouth and Martin Gollogly from SAP, discussed how to address this fundamental challenge and what is already being done by some of our educational institutions.

Another important issue we have covered in the last 12 months has been cybersecurity and SAP. Cybersecurity is vital given the potentially sensitive data stored on SAP systems. This episode covered the key dos and don’ts and some top tips from Andrew Morris from Turnkey Consulting, Brian Froom from TATA Steel and Paul Lloyd-Smith from SAP.

Payroll is a crucial department for all organisations. In our episode on the dos and don'ts of payroll and patching, Adam Frank at KCA Deutag and Natasha Robinson from SAP covered the vital nature of patching systems and why just adding an additional bank holiday can be a surprising challenge.

We’ve also been able to continue our series of interviews with senior IT leaders. Discussions have covered everything from how our guests ended up working in SAP, to the best advice they’ve received during their careers. Specifically, we were lucky enough to speak with Sudeep Shetty from Britvic, Ian Mallinson from Warburtons, Stephen Clark from Walgreens Boots Alliance and Nicola Davidson from KCA Deutag,

Lastly, but certainly not least, our mental health episodes also continue to be very popular. This year we’ve covered a variety of topics, with members from the team at Thrive joining us as guests. These have included Seasonal Affective Disorder and how to deal with the impact of the changing seasons, neurodiversity in the workplace, sensory overload and overcoming adversity through positivity. We look forward to recording more in the new year to continue giving our community to tools we all need to improve our mental health.

Hopefully, we have whet your appetite from some of the podcast episodes, and as ever, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss any in the future. And don’t forget you can also view the episodes on YouTube as well.
