SUGEN welcomes SAP Fiori now included with SAP Software

Published on

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. and WALLDORF, Germany, June 3, 2014 - SAP User Group Executive Network (SUGEN), the global network of 16 independent SAP user groups, is pleased with the announcement from SAP that customers can start using the user-friendly SAP® Fiori® and SAP Screen Personas included within their underlying licenses of SAP software.

The SAP announcement at SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando (US) is a response to the feedback given to SAP by the global SAP user community united in SUGEN, following the initial release of SAP Fiori a year ago.

At the release of SAP Fiori the response of SUGEN was twofold. SUGEN welcomed the new user interface and considered it a real improvement for users of the SAP Business Suite. At the same time, SUGEN was disappointed that SAP Fiori was to be licensed separately.

Together with the Global User Groups Organization and SAP executives we discussed the license topic, SUGEN being of the opinion that SAP Fiori is a set of enhancements in the user interface that should be covered by the maintenance fees customers pay to SAP.

The announcement at SAPPHIRE is a good example for the excellent collaboration between SAP and SUGEN. It shows once again how important the voice of its customers is to SAP and that feedback received is taken into serious consideration by its executives.

"This is an important change that is welcomed by SAP customers across the world," states Tonnie van der Horst, Chairman of SUGEN. "It demonstrates the value of the global dialogue between SUGEN and SAP, we applaud SAP for having the courage to change course. Now customers can discard reservations and adopt SAP Fiori to increase usability."

Also Rob Enslin, SAP Executive Board Member, reiterated the successful collaboration between SAP and SUGEN: "We have been working with SUGEN and listening to the feedback from our customers. SAP Fiori is an important driver for the adoption of SAP innovations. With this change, we believe we can both accelerate and simplify innovation adoption for all our customers."
