SAP enhances its HANA Cloud Platform and introduces Business One 9.0

Published on

ZDNet quoted SAP CMO Jonathan Becher, who discussed the companys cloud strategy in more detail. Becher stated that all applications delivered by SAP will eventually be accessible in the cloud. However the end goal is also for them all to work seamlessly together with on-premise applications via a "single underlying platform" HANA.

According to Becher, updates to the SAP HANA Cloud platform include development of HANA app libraries and the HANA marketplace. These will better enable customers to build, test and deploy their apps in the cloud. Whats more, SAP is also introducing a new simplified consumption based pricing model, whereby customers start with a base price, and can then choose amongst add-on options for more services.

Continuing the HANA push, SAP also recently announced updates to Business One, with the launch of version 9.0. This will now run on HANA, to help small and medium businesses to better analyse structured and unstructured big data in real time. IT Pro Portal highlighted that flexibility is the watchword here, with the software able to run in the cloud, on premise, or hosted by partners.
