User Group launches new Developers SIG

Published on

Web and mobile apps have never been more essential for a business, and user expectations have hit an all-time high. In a recent survey, 80% of mobile app users said they would only attempt to use a problematic app three times or less. Further, research suggests that 2016 has seen DevOps become part of the mainstream strategy for a quarter of Global 2000 businesses – indicating that 2017 is set to see DevOps remain at the top of the agenda.

This presents a unique challenge to developers, and the growing importance of DevOps is behind the creation of our brand new Developers SIG. This new SIG, which starts with a CodeJam on the 7th of December, will help developers address the challenges that DevOps can present. The event will demonstrate how developers can make the most of SAPUI5 – which gives developers the ability to create complex UI patterns, and maintain a consistent user experience for all apps across browsers and mobile devices. Attendees will have the opportunity to get a first look at the capabilities of SAPUI5, and will be given access to tools and sandboxes to explore it themselves. A number of SAP experts will also be on hand to provide demonstrations and answer any questions on the software.

Kicking off at 9:30am and finishing at 4:30pm at the SAP UK offices in Middlesex, the event will give developers the opportunity to learn:

  • how to access and leverage SAP WebIDE for SAPUI5
  • how to access SAP Hana Cloud Platform Destinations in order to consume API data
  • how to leverage UI components
  • how to use SAPUI5's databinding and routing features
  • how to enable internationalisation (i18n) within SAPUI5

Our CodeJam events have been running since 2012, and have been a great success – providing a valuable opportunity for users to collaborate and share knowledge. The new Developers SIG is just one of 25 different Special Interest Groups run by the User Group for its members. To find out more, register and attend the Developers SIG, please follow this link
