Philip Adams elected to SUGEN Core Leadership Team

Published on

We are pleased to announce that our former chairman and current director, Philip Adams, has been elected to the SUGEN (SAP User Group Executive Network) Core Leadership Team. UKISUG is one of SUGEN’s founding members and has been actively involved in driving charters, projects and best-practice workshops since its inception ten years ago. Philip is the first UKISUG representative to be elected to SUGEN’s Core Leadership Team, which stands to further benefit the User Group and its members.

“I believe SUGEN represents the goals and objectives of many users globally. It is an important platform to facilitate networking and collaboration globally, so that we can educate our members and influence SAP,” commented Philip Adams. “I’m passionate about the voluntary nature of User Groups, and I’ve seen many good initiatives driven by the selfless time and energy of volunteers. My desire is to foster this culture in SUGEN and to help it thrive, so we can deliver more back to our members.”

Philip, Head of IT at Mercury Engineering, has been a Special Interest Group (SIG) chair for Ireland events since 2008; he became a director of UKISUG in 2010 and was elected chairman in 2013. Philip stepped down as UKISUG chairman in 2017 but remains a director. He has been a UKISUG representative for SUGEN for more than five years, and has been a member of both the innovation adoption and licensing charter teams.

“Philip has been very active in SUGEN activities in the last couple of years. His contribution to the SUGEN Licensing and Auditing Charter has been really valuable when dealing with tough topics such as indirect access. As Philip joins the CLT, I know that his impulse will be to sustain our progress in strategically influencing SAP and helping to drive SUGEN forward,” said Gianmaria Perancin, chairman of SUGEN. “We are pleased to welcome Philip to the Core Leadership Team because we know the value he brings to our network globally, but also to UKISUG. Indeed, UKISUG has been one of the most vocal and influential user groups globally, so Philip’s involvement as part of our CLT will ensure we continue to deliver value and remain relevant to members and SAP.”

Yasmin Awad, Senior Vice President - Global Customer Value Services, SAP said: We are delighted to see Philip elected to the Core Leadership Team of SUGEN. We are confident this will not only further strengthen SAP’s partnership with UKISUG but more importantly provide an opportunity for SAP customers in the UK and Ireland to have their interests represented in the global SUGEN network. SUGEN along with all user groups plays an essential role for SAP in maintaining an open dialogue with its customers and help us take the right road towards excellence, innovation, and success.”
